POSITION SUMMARY: The kitchen steward performs several kitchen-related activities including (but not limited to) Pot and Dish washing, general cleaning duties as well as storing both food and non-food supplies. This is a full-time position with shifts to be determined; and requires evening, weekend and / or holiday availability. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Works under the supervision of a designated Culinary Management Team member2. Utilizes a mechanical dish washing machine and other related equipment.3.
Sets up and maintains the dish and pot washing area.4. Distributes and stores clean pots, pans, dishes, and utensils.5. Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen areas according to cleaning schedules and procedures.6. Empties trash receptacles and transports waste to designated compacter and dumpster units. 7. Drains and fills all deep fryers on a scheduled basis and transports used oil to designated storage containers.8. Completes daily and weekly cleaning duties assigned by kitchen management. GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Duties include but are not limited to: • Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions. • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. • Performs specific work duties and assignments as directed. • Uses all chemical components per manufacturers recommendations. • Wear all the required PPE when necessary. • Assist with light food prep such as peeling carrots, onions, and potatoes. The hourly rate for this opportunity is $15.00-17.50 per hour. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: • The ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to set up and operate commercial dish washing equipment as well as other related machinery.
