ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Pre-Installation Truck Technician's responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems.
Follows safety protocols and complies with all PPE requirements Respect and protect Swanton Welding's and third party's property (tools, vehicles, facilities, equipment) and business activities Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided
for the job. Install bolt-on accessories, including lift axles and drill holes into bed frame.
Mount hitches, mud flaps, crane plates, etc. Move battery boxes, air tanks, fuel filters, install axels and airbags and route air lines. Operate power hand tools and basic tools Visually inspect quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Swanton Welding and follows the code of conduct Performs other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent Basic mechanical knowledge Familiarity with plumbing of air lines Experience working with wrenches and impact tools (i.
e. auto mechanic skills) Knowledge on how to operate drills, air tools, power tools and cranes. Experience working with cars, trucks or semis Basic weld experience a plus Ability to read a tape measure and understand mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions). A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment Detail oriented approach to daily work activities Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn PREFERRED SKILLS At least 2 years' of mechanical experience Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders.
