This position will support the project as a quality engineer supporting internal/external audits and surveillances, answering programmatical questions, providing procedure intention interpretation, and ensuring procedure compliance across the Engineering organization. The successful candidate must have strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills, ability to work independently, good attention to detail, proven problem-solving abilities and a can-do attitude.
The successful candidate will interface with technical personnel (e. g. engineers, designers), maintenance personnel, operations personnel, testing personnel, project management and the customer. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Engineering Supervisor. The successful candidate will be required to be familiar with relevant Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Engineering Department Procedure Instructions (EDPIs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). Responsibilities: The Senior Quality Engineer - Lessons Learned responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Interfacing with engineering, plant engineering, plant management, maintenance, construction, quality assurance, procurement, testing, human resources, and other technical personnel to identify and implement lessons learned.
Creating presentations and presenting complex topics. Review and confirm validity of lessons learned. Influence and lead across the organization to institutionalize DFLAW Lessons Learned for HLW. Developing and deploying metrics by gathering data across projects including lessons learned implementation.
Completing technical writing and/or editing skills to complete change management plans, studies, procedures, guides, instructions, and other deliverables. Develop and present training on lessons learned initiatives to project personnel and customer as needed. Develop and/or update reports, procedures, charters and/or instructions with updated customer and project management expectations. Review multiple engineering discipline deliverables, coordinate and communicate lessons learned across facilities. Review and translation of simple to complex technical documents with objective of identifying and communicating lessons learned.
Participate in and support internal and external project quality surveillances and audits. Review Condition Reports and associated actions within the Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) automated tool (Devon Way) for lessons learned. Promote Lessons Learned Programs and interface with Quality Assurance. Communicate quality issues to the engineering team in the form of positive feedback and lessons learned. Perform management backssments to confirm implementation, institutionalization and effectiveness of lessons learned. Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications: Level 1: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with 6 years of progressive related experience, in lieu of a degree 12 years of relevant experience.
Level 2: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with 9 years of progressive related experience, in lieu of a degree 15 years of relevant experience.
