Job Summary The welder is a skilled manufacturing position that is responsible for supporting the building and repair process of steel vessels for a variety of customers. The welder must follow the building instructions that comply with the regulatory specs to successfully support the build and repair of the vessel. Responsibilities Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches,
work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Using MIG or TIG weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions Produce consistent quality welds on steel using GMAW and GTAW processes with primary focus on GMAW. Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits. Operates a wide variety of handheld and power-assisted tools and production fixtures Ensures quality and accuracy of their work Reports issues to supervisor or to team lead Positions and secures parts, using hoist, crane, wire and banding machine, or hand tools.
