The Information Assurance/ Security Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to: Provides backssment and authorization (A&A) support in the development of security and contingency plans and conducts complex risk and vulnerability backssments, including development of risk mitigation strategies. Provides technical and programmatic Information Assurance Services to internal and external customers in support
of network and information security systems. Designs, develops and implements security requirements within an organization's business processes. Prepares documentation for authorization of information systems using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process such as SSP, SCTM, Continuous Monitoring Reports, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
Prepares and supports the development and performance of Security backssment Procedures for selected security controls. Analyzes policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps. Recommends system enhancements to improve security deficiencies. Secures system configurations and develops,
tests, and integrates computer and network security tools, scans systems in order to determine compliancy and report results.
Evaluates products and various aspects of system administration. Conducts security program audits and develops solutions to lessen identified risks. Provides information assurance support for the development and implementation of security architectures to meet new and evolving security requirements. Evaluates, develops and enhances security requirements, policy and tools. Provides assistance in computer incident response, reporting, and investigations. This role is required to provide support, On-site, Mon-Fri This program does allow for a flexible work schedule and is walking distance from a Metro station Qualifications Required Qualifications: An Active/current TS/SCI security clearance Bachelor's Degree with five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience; Ph D and zero (0) to two (2) years of experience A current/valid Do D 8570 IAM Level I-III certification (e.
g. Security+, CISSP) Experience implementing RMF processes and NIST technical controls Demonstrated ACAS (Tenable Security Center / Nessus) experience Demonstrated experience with SIEM user applications (e.
g.
