Serves as a security expert in network design, system integration and application development efforts, helping project teams comply with enterprise and IT security policies, standards, and operation requirements
as well as federal regulations and industry best practices.
Contributes to the development of the information security strategy and annual updates to the information security roadmap. Oversees the delivery of the business, information and technical artifacts that constitute the enterprise information security architecture and solutions. Contributes to the alignment of security governance and policies with Enterprise Architecture governance and Information Services project methodology. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have demonstrated experience in developing architecture solutions for security systems, applications, and infrastructure in a large, complex IT environment.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. Must be able to extract complete business requirements for a given solution space by means of a consistent rigorous process. Must be able to effectively describe security requirements and complex technologies to lay people, describing risks and benefits and expected outcomes. Must be able to create network architecture, data flow and business process diagrams using Microsoft Visio or compatible tool. Strong conceptual thinking and communication skills — the ability to conceptualize complex business and technical requirements into comprehensible architectures and designs.
Team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors and IT and business personnel. Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills. Seven to 10+ years of combined IT and security architecture/engineering experience with a broad exposure to infrastructure/network and multiplatform environments. Minimum 4 years’ experience in security architecture or security engineering roles. Experience working in virtual environments as well as public and private cloud environments.
Knowledge of a security-specific architecture methodology (for example, SABSA). Knowledge of cloud security frameworks and zero trust architecture. Education BA/BS Degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience Security Clearance The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable amount of time. Pay Range $142,000- $211,500 RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate’s work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.
Successful candidates will be offered employment in a specific title, as determined by the candidate's education and experience. The salary range includes base pay plus RAND’s sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
