Who We Are: We are the Enterprise Services Group within the Information Technology Services department. Our role is to manage the infrastructure supporting administrative and academic applications for the College. The team manages three data centers, a high-performance computing infrastructure, storage and server

hardware supporting our virtualization environment, and cloud environments, including Google Workspace, GCP, and AWS. The opportunity: The Application Systems Administrator is a member of a highly collaborative team of experienced professionals providing administrative support for Swarthmore College's business applications.

This position provides general technical support and software installation, patching, and upgrades for business applications, primarily our Banner ERP system. Essential Responsibilities Administration of the software and linux servers comprising the Banner ERP system. Perform installation, upgrade, and patching. Monitor and maintain the system with a focus on security,

performance, and availability. Work with the application support and systems administration teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and availability issues and plan and execute new application implementations.

Act as technical contact for external vendors supplying administrative software services to the College. What you bring: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant work experience. Experience supporting enterprise business applications in Linux and Windows server environments with a strong understanding of system components, including desktop applications, networking, database systems, application servers, and operating systems. Experience working with Tomcat Java application servers and Oracle database technologies and proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, Java, Python, and PL/SQL.

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand and manage complex software systems. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively alone on self-directed projects and collaboratively with vendors, College staff, and ITS colleagues. Preferred Qualifications Significant administrative experience with Ellucian Banner and supporting services. Experience working in an Academic environment. Experience with container environments, application load balancers, monitoring software, system firewalls, and version control systems.
