The Senior Consultant - Absence and Disability provides consulting leadership, subject matter expertise and business development in the employee benefits arena, with a primary focus on integrated disability, absence, and health management.
This position is in our Boston office but can be remote. Works closely with Spring’s clients and consultants in the following areas: Manage client engagements including relationship expansion and assuring timely, clearly communicated client deliverables Prepare integrated
disability, absence and health management program backssment studies and related, customized projects in support of these programs Maintain deep industry knowledge in the areas of disability, FMLA/leave management, ADA, return to work, and health management (e.
g. EAP, wellness) interaction Vendor procurement, negotiation, and optimization Foster ongoing carrier and TPA relationships Lead carrier and TPA product development initiatives in the areas of integrated product design, FMLA and other leave management, ADA, return to work and health management Generate business in accordance with individual sales target; prepare client proposals and engagement letters accordingly Collaborate with
other teams to provide strategies and solutions Peer review the work of other team members as needed T he ideal candidate will have 7+ years of disability and absence management experience.
Key characteristics include: Superior ability to interpret findings, understand regulations and effectively communicate (in both oral and written forms) across multiple levels and audiences Experience with converting results and findings into effective client deliverables Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point and excellent Excel modeling and data management skills High degree of customer focus and responsiveness Strong relationship building skills and motivation to prospect and network Ability to deliver high quality work on deadline and within scope Proven project management skills and use of various tools and communication methods Involvement in training/mentoring junior staff Experience with research and survey initiatives a plus Flexibility and energy to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment Ability to travel on an as needed basis Salary is commensurate with experience and includes competitive benefits.
