The business area of Port Solutions focuses on lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports harbours and terminals, equipment includes cranes straddle carriers and lift trucks to name but a few. To continue to support our customer’s needs we are recruiting an Electrically qualified Port Engineer to carry out the maintenance and repair of this equipment, with all our customers being coastal, being willing to
travel UK wide as well as locally is a key requirement for this role (the position can also offer the opportunity to work overseas, but this is not mandatory). We are looking for candidates who based in the Humberside area, south coast (Portsmouth/Southampton), or Bristol area.
You will report to the Operations Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Electrical installation, commissioning, inspection, and testing including service and repair of Port Solution products, such as harbour cranes and straddle carriers Trouble- shooting equipment malfunctions, primarily in Electrical equipment, Drive technologies and PLCs in an industrial environment. Consulting with customers on repair and
safety related issues Accurate and descriptive problem reporting Completion of inspection and examination documentation as appropriate What we are looking for in you: Electrically qualified a minimum of a L3 and fully conversant in electrical theories and principles with a basic understanding of mechanics and ideally hydraulics Experience of performing electrical commissioning and repairs to machinery, PLC’s, and drives Experience of Siemens S7 essential.
Use of FBD preferred. Good attention to detail. Be organised and self-motivated person. Computer proficient including basic networking and component diagnostics. Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
