Job Description: We are looking for a candidate that will fit well with the fun, creative, and skilled Product Development Team. The PD team is responsible for developing and executing the design specs and product components required to build the best, most innovative spas, in the world. T he Sr. PD Engineer will be responsible for product design and the development process from conceptualization stage to
commercialization stage. The Sr. PD Engineer will contribute to setting project team priorities and engage in product design activity aimed at meeting defined schedule, marketing and manufacturing requirements by applying engineering expertise, technical creativity, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Has total critical project responsibility. Requires BS+ 7+yrs or MS+ 4+yrs, or equivalent experience; senior/project leadership. Primary Responsibilities: Makes design changes to existing products, ensuring compatibility through appropriate testing. Provides engineering and technical support to production with respect to product specifications and requirements. Guides the successful
completion of major programs or projects. Concept Design: Lead and support product development from concepts through various stages of prototyping to final design that meets product requirements by applying sound and good engineering principles.
Design for manufacturability through close collaboration with Operations and Project Engineering Teams. Effectively perform design verification and transfer. Complete FMEA and Risk analysis as a part of the design control process. Customer: Work directly with customer's R&D teams to identify and solve problems through innovative problem solving and product design to create sustainable differentiation by ensuring value is delivered to all customers.
Communicate design requirements to other team members and evaluate designs to ensure project trajectory is consistent with product specifications. Ability to translate customer needs and pain points into a value proposition that can be supported with a strong business case. Teamwork: Provides technical leadership for product development teams and utilizes project management skills to define and manage resources and execute to achieve required outcomes and can delegate, inspire and communicate effectively. Working with Sales & Marketing, assisting in defining the NPD strategy and developing and implanting the subsequent plans.
Lead and deliver NPD projects or work packages to the stipulated scope, cost and time requirements. Drives execution of project activities through the applicable project phases to the final phase of Commercial Release for ongoing production. recommendations, lessons learned, methods for problem-solving, analysis methodology, etc. to maximize contributions to multiple projects or programs. Coordinates project activities for Commercialization of product and corresponding manufacturing processes while meeting expectations for sustainable, efficient, repeatable, and reproducible manufacturing operations.
Creates process procedures for the department to improve consistency and quality. Ensure products meet regulatory and Bullfrog safety requirements. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree 3-5 years of Product Development Experience Fully effective in Solidworks, Catia, Pro E, or other engineering software. PDM and surface modeling experience is a plus. Capable of creating concept models, manufacture-ready models, and geometric drawings without supervision. Familiar with and employs 5S, Lean, product DFM, and FMEA principles.
Familiar with Phase Gate product development. Capable of conducting a proper FMEA within a team and correct any concerns within the design performance and/or aesthetics of any given feature. Capable of conducting proper DOE (Design of Experiment) with no supervision. Capable of determining ROI for Capitol Investments. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Be familiar with and use a variety of the field's concepts, practices, procedures, and engineering principles. Wide range of knowledge of material characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses. Extensive experience with plastics, hydraulics, chemicals, and/or agency listings a plus.
