is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Cloud Engineer to join our team in the Chantilly, VA. Position has some remote work flexibility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Designing, developing, testing, and integrating a Microsoft on-premises Enterprise IT datacenter using Agile methodologies in accordance with best practices Producing Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) or Configuration as Code (Ca C), delivering solutions with a code first approach with sufficient comments and structure Participate in peer code reviews Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
Regularly reviewing existing cloud
solutions and making recommendations for improvements Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs Diagnosing and resolving complex performance, security, and/or technical challenges Designing automated approaches to standardize the development of Service Design Packages to integrate enterprise systems Create and maintain system technical documentation and replace documentation with well documented code Interact with users to gather requirements, evaluate vendor products, analyze alternatives, and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software Basic Qualifications: IT or STEM Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of relevant IT experience
Minimum Do D 8570 IAT Level 2 certification required (CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND, SSCP) Do D 8570 Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire Proficiency in Power Shell, Bash, Python, YAML, JSON or Ansible for automation Preferred Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud platforms Experience with cloud edge computing solutions Experience with Azure Resource Manager templates, BICEP, or similar cloud templates Git Hub Enterprise, Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops or other code repositories experience CI/CD pipeline experience Clearance Requirements: Active Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years.
Candidate must be open to random CI poly. Physical Requirements : Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time Must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery Must be able to position self to maintain office supplies on variable height shelving. The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
