is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cloud Engineer Expert to join our team in the Chantilly, VA. The position is Hybrid with the ability to work 2-3 days from home. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Designing VMWare, and Azure virtual On Prem infrastructures.
Overseeing cloud implementation and updating documentation/design with changes as necessary. • Providing advanced knowledge and support for integrating Infrastructure, Do D Enterprise Architecture, Network Engineering, Cloud Migration Strategy, and Cloud Business Process Management. • Providing leadership expertise to teams of network, system, and migration engineers. • Defining, building, and evolving
a cloud strategy to meet enterprise needs. • Developing strategies for exploiting cloud to solve current IT problems and establishing the foundation for the next-generation solutions of tomorrow.
• Developing migration methodologies and techniques to optimize an application’s contribution to deliver the desired business outcomes and IT goals. • Developing technology policy documentation to support Cloud Services. • Providing concept of operations and other backssment documentation on customer use of Cloud Services. • Supporting cloud technology tools and services. • Reviewing Cloud Services community technologies and document how the technologies do or do not support Cloud Services strategies
and policies, including duplicative efforts for areas of areas for efficiency improvements.
• Reviewing and documenting Cloud Services technology needs; identifying technology gaps in the Cloud Services offering, existing operational technologies, and enterprise technologies. • Researching and recommending new technology tools and services in support of the Cloud services mission. • Providing recommended use-case scenarios for utilizing recommended tools and services specific to distinct customer sets across Cloud Services program. • Providing engineering support for integrating new applications/workloads into cloud environments and transitioning existing applications into virtualized/cloud environments.
This support includes the entire cycle of migration events, from supporting the customer in acquiring cloud infrastructure and services to testing and successful deployment. This support also includes supporting backssment of new environments and supporting testing activities in the virtualized environments. • Supporting Virtualization of legacy systems to use infrastructure services, including but not limited to, Physical to Virtual (P2V) workload conversion, where applicable, and Virtual to Virtual (V2V) workload conversion, where applicable.
• Documenting information systems service requirements across the Cloud Services program. • Recommending new (or modifications to existing) programs, products, and services. • Organizing meetings focused on technology requirements across the Cloud Services program as needed. • Clearly communicating with customers and mission partners on all aspects of Cloud Services. Basic Qualifications: • Requires Bachelor’s degree (in IT or Computer Science, or related technical field), or 8 years of related experience.10+ years cloud computing and network engineering experience. • Experience with AWS, Azure, and leading cloud service providers.
• Experience designing and building web application environments on AWS, or Azure. • Must have one or more of the following certifications: VMWare VCP, or AWS Solutions Architect within 6 months of your start. • Experience in engineering integration activities with cloud services. • Proficiency with Visio • Experience with collaboration tools and an ability to work within Agile team environments under SCRUM and Kanban methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: • ITIL v3 or 4 Foundation Certification highly desired • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, VMware VCP7 – CMA are highly desired Security Clearance Requirements: • US Citizenship required and active TS clearance adjudicated within the last 6 years • Candidate must be open to CI poly Physical Requirements: • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time • Must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery • Must be able to position self to maintain office supplies on variable height shelving.
• The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
