The Mechanical Engineer will work in a cross-functional team on the design, development, manufacture and test. Responsibilities • Under the mentorship of a senior engineer: • Develop CAD models and drawings in Solidworks and/or Creo • Develop metallic, composite and carbon fiber structures to support lunar lander and payloads • Perform design reviews and effectively present solutions to

complex problems • Assist in developing testing and manufacturing products A candidate for this position will be encouraged to take on as much responsibility as they are capable of and will be expected to play a role in the entire cradle-to-grave product development process, including control, hands-on assembly and testing, and on-console mission operations support.

Required Education/Experience/Skills • B. S degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering design or related discipline • Proficiency with component design and assembly management using 3D CAD software, Solidworks or Creo • Basic understanding of

ASME Y14.5, GD&T fundamentals, and exposure to tolerance stack up analyses • Basic understanding of design for manufacturability and hardware risk backssments • Familiarity with commonly used space and commercial specifications for materials, processes, fasteners, mechanical components, connectors, wiring, etc.

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite Preferences • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) • Familiarity with common space industry additive and conventional metallic and composite manufacturing processes. • Hands on experience with hardware, testing or manufacturing • Familiarity with standard practices for assembly and environmental testing of space flight hardware as well as the tooling and ground support equipment associated with these tests.
