Overview Seeking an experienced and motivated Front-End Engineering Leader with a strong background in user experience design, construction, test, delivery and implementation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving high velocity engineering, and has competencies in technical, strategic, and interpersonal skills. As a Front-End Engineering Leader, you will lead a team of skilled professionals, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the
delivery of high-quality, secure, and performant engineering solutions.
Primary Responsibilities Collaboratively work with UX designers to understand the philosophy of user experience as it pertains to Southern Glazer's functional needs Translate UX functional needs into technical blueprints that form the basis of front-end engineering Oversee the team's design, construction, and delivery of front-end components & services, ensuring alignment with user and business needs Supervise front-end projects to ensure they meet stakeholder expectations and are delivered on schedule Keep abreast of, and implement, best practices and shepherd new technologies in front-end development; incorporate into the team the practice and adopt human-centered design principles in technical implementations Mentor, guide, and evaluate the performance of front-end engineers within the chapter to ensure their growth and alignment with project and company goals Allocate and manage front-end engineers according to product requirements and business priorities Establish best practices across department for collaborating with UX/UI designers and POs to ensure a cohesive and user-friendly end-product Provide inputs for product team stakeholder updates on progress, risks, and delivery timelines Provide guidance on front-end aspects of digital product strategy Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and formal education in relevant disciplines (Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant degreed) 10+ years related experience in technology management, customer relationship management and staff management Expertise in major front-end tech (e.
g. React/React Native, Angular, Vue, Adobe Experience Manager, SFDC Front-end (Lightning etc. )). Proficiency in responsive design, mobile-first approaches, and web standards Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices Ability to align technical efforts with business goals and priorities Experience in tech stack decision-making and strategy development Strong leadership and team management skills, especially leading front-end engineering teams Effective communication and negotiation capabilities Conflict resolution and problem-solving acumen Understanding of team growth and retention opportunities Physical Demands Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.
