Duties Incumbent serves as a Federal Law Enforcement officer on a federal enclave, which requires knowledge and application of executive police management methods and techniques. The incumbent's primary responsibility is the management, planning, performance and supervision of the law enforcement personnel, activities, and security within the DP's jurisdiction, Police Operations Branch.

Supervises the subordinated rank of captain and below, develops, and implements corrective procedures to alleviate identified physical security problems. Applies long-range planning principles and methods and analyzes, plans, and draws valid conclusions in program management and prioritization. Manage

thorough investigations of criminal acts and other offenses and incidents involving felonies and misdemeanors. Coordinates security guard activities in accordance with contractual provisions, which may be under his or her command to provide a safe and secure environment, may be required to assume project officer responsibilities.

Manage a personnel security and facilities security control program. Manages and coordinates the protection of VIPs when they visit the NIH with other law enforcement agencies and manage the preparations for such visits as well as DP subordinates involved in the protection. Develops, designs, and monitors the NIHs law enforcement programs. Provide guidance on

law enforcement policies, procedures, and regulations to subordinates.

Serves as supervisor over the staff of the assigned Branch. Exercises the full range of supervisory and managerial authority to establish and implement annual and multi-year goals, objectives, and work plans. Requirements Conditions of Employment U. S.
