We are actively hiring for a Manager, Commercial Insurance Billing. Your Role: As a Commercial Insurance Billing Manager within our new Operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing billing operations within Mobilitas. Your work will include supervising the billing team, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing of premiums, overseeing premium audits, maintaining billing records, and developing and implementing policies and procedures for effective premium and payment collection.
As part of the development of our billing function you will work as the point of contact and subject matter expert in commercial billing. This role will report to the Senior Director of Commercial Operations. Your work: Billing and Invoicing Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Billing team. Oversee the preparation, issuance, and management of all invoices and bills, agency bill and direct bill commission payments, and non-premium invoices. Collaborate with underwriting, product, actuarial and finance teams to ensure correct premiums and payment amounts are invoiced and applied.
Ensure the accuracy and compliance of billing with insurance regulations and company policies. Provide rigorous oversight of accounts receivable. Customer Service and Communication: Liaise with brokers, agents, and insured to resolve billing inquiries and disputes. Set a standard of exceptional service to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and lead the billing team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment focused on meeting departmental and customer service goals.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and report on billing metrics and financial performance. Analyze trends in billing and collections, making recommendations for improvements. Work closely with Accounting to resolve downstream billing impacts from accounts receivable and payables. Maintain domain-related financial reporting in support of controls/audits. Process Improvement and Compliance: Work with Business Architecture to develop and implement efficient billing processes and systems. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Technology and Systems Management: Leverage technology to optimize billing processes. Work closely with IT, data management, and finance teams to maintain and enhance billing systems Required Experience, Education and Skills Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field5+ years Billing or finance, preferably in the commercial insurance industry2+ years people leader experience Experience with database management and analytics tools Familiarity with insurance regulations and compliance standards What would make us excited about you? Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $89,910-$133,200.
This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 15% of eligible pay.
