Duties: Work as part of an attorney-led team in the pre-litigation department, responsible for the second phase of cases.
Approve demands and negotiate settlements in the best interest of clients. Collaborate with the demand specialist and closing legal assistant. Serve as the main point of contact for clients during the negotiation phase. Review demands, ensuring all bills, records, and health insurance liens are received and updated. Dispute liens if necessary,
and address additional hardships relevant to the case with the client. Negotiate with insurance adjusters and request unsigned releases. Assist the team with any treatment-related issues.
Approve supplemental documentation and settlement checks as needed. Create a preliminary worksheet for attorney approval to qualify clients for settlement. Regularly review cases and discuss issues with the attorney. Make recommendations regarding cases to refer to the litigation department or outside firms. Requirements:2-5 years of experience, preferably in personal injury at a high-volume firm. Membership in the State Bar Association and a state license to practice law. Willingness and ability to
interact with clients, adjusters, and legal professionals. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.
Medical knowledge is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Prior experience with Smart Advocate and phone systems is advantageous. Education: Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
