pre-filing case work-up under the direction of the supervising attorney. Will serve in client meetings. Drafting petitions, taking and defending depositions. Conducting case-related investigations. Law and motion work, appearances before the WCAB. Settlement discussions.
Trial preparation work and trial. Experience defending workers' compensation depositions for the plaintiff (not defense) is essential. Experience appearing at workers' compensation appeals board hearings (MSC, Priority Conference, Trials) is a plus. Experience with workers' compensation filings including Petitions and Declarations of Readiness needed. Should preferably have California Bar License. Spanish speaking is
a plus. Additional Skills: The candidate must preferably have Juris Doctorate from a top-rated school with a strong undergraduate academic record. Excellent negotiation skills are essential.
