Position Overview: As a Kennel Attendant, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operations with Center Veterinary Clinic. By adding value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and extraordinary service, the Kennel Attendant will oversee animal behavior and provide husbandry
care to the patients of the Veterinary Hospital. We are looking for a friendly, team-oriented person, with an exceptional eye for detail! Duties and Responsibilities: Observe and report daily animal behavior, appearance, and activity for signs of illness or discomfort to the attending Veterinarian or Technician Safely and effectively handle and restrain animals to complete treatment tasks Walk hospitalized dogs throughout the day to provide exercise and time for urine and bowel elimination Ensure that cages and animals are properly identified and that personal property (toys, blankets, leashes) are stored and labeled in respectable areas Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages, and runs
as often as is necessary to ensure cleanliness and sanitation Perform general cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizations in other areas of the hospital to control the spread of diseases Qualifications and Skills: Entry level position, previous experience welcomed High School Diploma/GED Confidence with animal behavior and proper animal restraint methods Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency Take initiative on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments Verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Organizational skills Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors Available Schedule: Part-time/ full time position shifts available We are open 7 days a week.
